Lately we have had more and more brides and corporations asking for outdoor events. Here in Texas, that has been pretty easy, seeing that it's 80 degrees in February. Even though the weather is spot on during your event, that doesn't mean your event planners didn't have two (some times three) back up plans just incase!

The thing to remember with an outdoor venue is that you can't control it. There is not a thermostat on the wall to turn up or down. There isn't a button to press when rain starts to fall. To have a successful event outside you have to think of all these options ahead of time. Here are three simple tips we have for getting started:

1. Having a rain plan is KEY! Some venues don't have an inside for moving into when things get wet. Don't let yourself be shocked day of.

2. Remember the heat. Sure, you are used to this Texas weather, but a lot of your guests might not be, Don't forget about a way to cool them when planning.

3. Grass isn't wood. If there aren't walking stones or an installed wood floor for your ceremony, those high high heels...

Winter is hardly over, but our minds are already on Spring. It's an event planners job to see what is ahead. The newest trend we are swooning over is all about being pretty in pink.

The color of the season is pink in every form. Our favorite; rose. The lighter the better, and more romantic.

It is the perfect way to place a mark of elegance on your event. Detailed on plates, scattered in flowers or draped in fun linens, we can't get enough!

Not only are signature drinks a great way to add a personal touch to your party, but they are a fun and creative way to incorporate the bride and grooms favorite beverage. Use the first drink you and your new husband shared, or create something from your company’s slogan.

Or take it to the next level and serve your guest a dessert martini. Mix it up with Baileys and white chocolate.

Deck the drink with a custom sign and stylish glass for the sweetest final touch!

New Years Wedding

Through the years of working in the industry, we have coordinated countless weddings and private events. All of them have been special in their own unique way. From huge over-the-top events to small intimate gatherings… we’ve seen and experienced everything one possibly can in the industry. Out of every event we have been apart of, there are some that have been truly unforgettable for everyone involved. This past New Years Eve wedding was one of them.

The ceremony was held at Central Christian Church in downtown Austin. Everything in the church was done in white, keeping the ceremony site very classic and traditional. Brett Barnes sang a beautiful rendition of Ave Maria and The Lord's Prayer that absolutely captivated everyone in the room. It was one of the most elegant ceremonies we’ve witnessed, and it set a high standard for the rest of the evening.

Following the ceremony, guests made their way to the Four Seasons Austin for the reception. It was an explosion of the senses from the moment they entered. With breathtaking floral in shades of lavender and...

The Marquee Showroom

Marquee Event Group has been in the event business for 30 years. Starting as a small party rental store in 1985, they have since developed into a prominent full-service event rental company that offers a wide range of items to move their client’s events to the next level.

As Marquee is held to such high regard, creative teams in the event industry love having the chance to present their work in their showroom for potential clients to see. With designs and themes changing every three months, the area showcases fantastic displays put together by local event planning, floral, and rental companies. Creative Consultants’ owner Victoria Hentrich actually had the pleasure of designing the first showroom back when the company first began. Set up for brides, she designed the space to attract potential customers and give them a visual of the type of space that could be created for them. The idea of the showroom took off, and it has been something Marquee kept throughout the years.

Now after nearly three decades, the opportunity arose for Victoria Hentrich and David...

Austin Wedding at the Prospect House

Anyone who has ever ventured out into the Texas Hill Country knows that it is a beautiful place. It’s a great location to hold a summer wedding, and the last couple we worked with did just that at the Prospect House. Located in Dripping Springs, it is a modern event space with a unique architectural design. The large windows allow a ton of natural light to flow throughout the space, casting shadows on the white interiors. Prospect House’s simplistic beauty really catches the attention of guests, especially those with an appreciation for minimalistic design. However, it’s not just the inside that has a striking appearance. In the hill country, all you need for a gorgeous venue is the natural scenery it provides. With breathtaking views in the distance, the simple white frame adorned with flowers served as a perfect backdrop for this past weekend’s ceremony.

After a nice and peaceful ceremony outdoors, everyone gathered into the reception space to celebrate the newlyweds. With the way the Prospect House is designed, less is usually more when it comes to décor. Long,...

Summer Wedding Planners

Texas summers are bright and full of sunshine. Despite the warmer weather that it may bring, many couples enjoy taking advantage of the cheerful weather by having their wedding ceremony outside. Our clients from last weekend did just that. Held at Gabriel Springs in Georgetown, the ceremony site was a beautiful spot to exchange vows. A small bridge served as the entrance for the ceremony, having everyone cross over a scenic stream of water and greenery. White chairs and mason jar floral arrangements lined each side of the aisle, adding a personal touch to the space. As guests arrived, they all received a ceremony program that doubled as a fan, and a cold bottle of water to brave the Texas heat. It was a nice and thoughtful addition by the bride and groom that everyone seemed to really appreciate.

The ceremony was short and sweet, and once it ended guests made their way into the indoor reception hall. With red oak floors, open beam trusses, and beautiful string lighting and chandeliers, the space was perfect for the bride and groom’s rustic wedding. Light pink...

When it comes to finding the perfect venue for an outdoor wedding, the beautiful scenery found at Four Seasons Austin is the perfect setting. Our Austin wedding planners had the pleasure of planning a couple’s special day at this beloved hotel, and it was nothing short of spectacular.

The couple opted for a smaller intimate wedding with their closest friends and family. Taking their seats on the picturesque lawn, guests watched in awe as the bride strolled down the aisle of delicate rose petals to marry the love of her life. The quiet ceremony was an incredibly romantic, and the feel-good mood carried on into the evening.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed prosecco on the lawn shaded by oak trees. Shades of purple and pink floral were the perfect addition to the space. Mixed with the beautiful outdoor greenery, it really brought the entire area to life. As the DJ played jazz tunes, guests mingled and enjoyed tray passed hors d’oeuvres. This also gave the bride and groom the perfect opportunity to sneak in some wonderful sunset photographs, which is something...

The Four Seasons became home to another beautiful spring event when a husband threw his wife a 50th birthday party. Over 75 close family and friends gathered in the grand foyer to celebrate the special occasion. Set in a vineyard theme, lush lemons and gorgeous floral decorated the entire room. Throughout the event, guests enjoyed the great sounds of Kevin Love Joy and his band, which set the perfect tone for the party.

To start off the evening, Chef Elmar prepared an exquisite menu that the guests absolutely loved. The 4-course dinner consisted of tuna tartare, lobster risotto, smoked quail breast, and beef tenderloin. Following the theme, dinner was more than just a delicious meal; each course was accompanied with a wine chosen by the chef. After sharing great laughs and stories through dinner, guests indulged once more on the specially made birthday cake.

Spring always brings the perfect weather for beautiful Texas outdoor events. Some of our amazing clients experienced this first hand at their rehearsal dinner. Our Austin event planners transformed the outdoor space into a quiet oasis with white flowers and linens adorning the tabletops. Held at the Four Seasons Austin, celebrations began with a cocktail hour for all guests to mingle. DJ Gatsby provided ambient music to set the mood, and the good conversation from cocktail hour continued as guests enjoyed a three-course plated dinner on the South Lawn.

As the day turned into night, lights from the trees lit up the lawn, and the DJ turned the event into the ultimate after party. With good music and a wide variety of desserts by the bite, guests ended the elegant night on a high note.

This rehearsal dinner was definitely one to remember, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing team of vendors our special event planners had the pleasure of working with.

We are overjoyed that the rain held back this Saturday for the Service Group Holiday party at Steiner Ranch Steakhouse! We were honored to have been a part of this fabulously-fun day. We're still searching for our socks after last weekend's Fonda San Miguel 40th Anniversary party in our fabulous city of Austin, Texas! We are still blown away by the energy in the room all evening long. Fun was had by ALL at this anniversary celebration for one of Austin's legendary (and one of our office favorites!) restaurants. This year's event, the Monster Ball, differed from the 35th anniversary party and we can't even imagine what the next five years will bring.

The evening began with guests pulling up to the iconic front doors, and were immediately greeted by entertainers from Way2MuchEntertainment- a bride and groom in Dia de los Muertos attire (and on stilts!) Next to them, were a team of swaying performers which added an element of eeriness and blew people away! We still can't imagine how they stayed so balanced so high up. After entering the restaurant, guests were greeted with tequila shots, more performers dressed in gold, and immediately entered the main room to find more surprises waiting.

Giant (and small) monsters made in Mexico were brought in for...
